According to Sports Illustrated and Yahoo Sports, the Detroit Tigers have contacted  former Yankee Johnny Damon. The Tigers could really use Johnny Damon's bat, considering that they have recently traded Curtis Granderson. Johnny Damon's role with the team would probably be left field, or maybe even center field because as of right now, their center fielder is a highly regarded prospect; Austin Jackson. The question is whether Johnny Damon would be their leadoff hitter, or would he bat second? Johnny Damon takes alot of pitches, walks alot, and can hit 300 as a batting average. Also, he makes contact with the ball alot. Johnny Damon steals alot of bases and scores alot of runs. The only problem with Johnny Damon is his arm. He cant throw the ball
