Money has been an issue though this offseason. They are looking for low cost options for left field. I still think when it's all said and done, Johnny Damon will be back in left field. For as bad defensively he is out in the outfield, Dye is actually worse. He hasn't played left field since he played one game there in 2003. At this point in his career, he is more of a DH and they already have Nick Johnson and other guys in the lineup that are going to fill that spot. My thoughts on Pedro are this, he did well down the stretch in the National League. You saw what happened when he faced an American League lineup like the Yankees in the World Series. He didn't pitch all that well. Now imagine facing that sort of lineup every start. I think at this point in his career, he has mediocre stuff. I would rather give Joba or Hughes the fifth spot int he rotation to see what we've got there, especially since there are four starters in front that are proven commodities. That's just my opinion.
