nah, I can handle the truth ratman, but actually, if I may risk offending people, there were "Help Wanted" signs up everywhere the last 3 times I went (post Katrina) but the jobs offered were the jobs vacated by the people who lived in the Ninth Ward, so mostly kitchen help and maid services. Since I am looking for a teaching position, I would not have too much trouble in regards to the population because colleges attract out of town students, and Tulane and Loyola still have full campuses. The truth is that, the garden District and French Quarter are still going strong, though there are fewer tourists.
I do however, have a problem in that "Yankees" are not easily embraced down there and I am still working on advanced degrees, so they prefer an established Prof. But I will get there eventually!!
