I am no Changers fan but Marty Schottenheimer is the worst head coach in NFL postseason history and with plenty of good reasons! He just made too many bad decisions and can't get his team prepared for tight game situations. I have to give Patriots credits for taking advatange of Chargers mistakes (that's what they are made of) even though I rooted my heart out against New England. Without those mistakes gifted by Chargers, Patriots were going nowhere and Chargers should've won the game relatively easy. Well, Marty Schottenheimer just can't make his team have enough diciplines to win the game. Go for 4th down early in the first quarter (within FG range), stupid headbutt after the play was dead, fumble the ball after making interception...On and on and on. You can blam those palyers on the field but i will definitelly put the blame on Marty Schottenheimer himself. He is just a pure loser! I couldn't care less about Chargers winning or losing. Just hate it to the bone when New England Patroits win gifeted games like this.angryangryangry

He should've given the ball to Tomlinson more often. When you have the MVP of the league who makes a big play nearly every time he touches the ball, you gotta give him the ball 30 times. But he had to let the first year starter try to throw his way to a win which wasn't gonna happen by any stretch of the imagination. But when the MVP gets 3 carries in the 4th quarter, it's time to rethink the gameplan. He dominated the Pats' defense all day and they didn't give him the ball when it mattered most!! Fire Shittenheimer now.

You're absolutely right! Because every coach who ever faced Brady blitzed him enough to rattle him and make him throw 3 interceptions ( which should have been about 5!) in a postseason game and make him look horrible. Yup Schottenhiemer fumbled an interception and missed a game tying field goal angry.Fire the bum!!!

i agree, the chargers gave new england this win, san diego drove the ball down the patriots throats, they had the chance to kill the clock when brady threw the pick and then the chargers fumbled it back to the patriots

the worst part is the new england patriots being totally classless again after the game when they should have been worshipping marty

What are u talking about? The players gave rhe game to the Pats. Our hero, Tom Terrific, threw the interception and the Chargers fumble the ball back. That's Marty's fault? Bull! The Chargers fumble the punt, don't fall on te ball, and it is Marty's fault. I guess if you are a boss and an employee makes a mistake you should be fired, right? When you win its the players, when you lose it's the coach. Thats a lie.

You appear to be a very bitter individual. Just because the Jetsey girls and Giants are pathetic is no reason not to root for a team in your division. The Pats have class.

You must have been a real joy to be around in 2004. Pats rule and the yankees get humiliated by the Boston Red Sox.

I know people are gonna say it's players on the field who should take the responsibility. It's only partially true or what do we need he caoch for? When you have the chance to score the game's first point and you go for 4 for 11? Are you kiddiing me? An on the leat fumble by the Chargers after the interception, why would he challenge the call when everyone in the world know there's zero chance the call would be reversed. Not only they lost a critical time out and with poor time management by the coaching staff how many really thought they'd have a chance to tie or win the game? You can blame the palyers all you want but I think Marty Schottenheimer is the one who should take the most responsiblity for sure.

It started with Schottenheimer and went all the way down the team....the word for the day is they choked. They choked under pressure in a big game. Give credit where credit is due to the newengland patriots and their coach who stayed FOCUSED and did not crumble under pressure. Its called GETTING THE JOB DONE!!!!!!! LT IS A CRY BABY PURE AND SIMPLE...A SORE LOOSER AND A POOR SPORTSMAN.

I don't know how much class Pats have but when their players didn't join the worship circle after winning the game and instead ,mimicking losing team's dance at the center of field. THAT"S REALLY CLASSY!!

I'll say it's really bitter when Yankees lost to RedSox in 2004. Who wouldn't feel that way as a true Yankees fan? We are not used to see our team losing to THAT team in that fashion. While RedSox fans, who are very used to losing in almost 90 years, especially to Yankees, can cherish their one and only championship in this time span all they want and couldn't feel a pinch after 2006 Boston Massacre part II. Why bother? Wh cares? We've got ONE ring in 88 years anyway!
