Eli's going to get a last chance under a new coach, whomever that is. I can assure you the NYG head coach in 2007 will not be Tom Coughlin, or probably more appropriately, Tim Fassellin (for those who are a little slow, that's a fusion of Jim Fassel and Tom Coughlin). I felt like I was watching the '03 Giants today: totally flat, resigned to losing, and continuing to make stupid mistake after stupid mistake.
But honestly, Eli was more than just lacking in accuracy and inspiration; the look on his face is not that of someone who has a clue what the he|| he's doing. It would appear to me that there's no leadership coming from the QB position, either.
First thing's first, however, and that is the dismissal of the ENTIRE coaching staff. Huffy and Lewis (especially) should get the bum's rush tomorrow morning.
This is a chance for the Giants to really take a look at the franchise and find the guy who will take the team to the next level. The best analogy is the Detroit Tigers: the team had been steadily improving from their atrocious 119 loss season, and Jim Leyland pushed them over the top. The Giants need a HC who will actually make good on discipline and produce a smartly-coached team that's ready to play every week. There is a ton of wasted talent on this team.
Thank God the regular season ends next week, because I can't watch this anymore.
That was a nice win and I am very happy!!! Despite the dropped balls, my goodness!!! I was nervous in the beginning of the game but my boys pulled through in the end. We were very lucky to get Reggie and Brees and the coach of course, they have made a big difference to the team.
Thanks for saying that...I live part time in N.O and most time in NY, and so I am a Yankee/Saints fan. I have to say one thing I always admired about the people of New Orleans is that it didn't matter at all to them that their team stunk...they still wear the jerseys and go to the games and cheer them on!! So I am sure this means a lot to them...especially now.
