All 10 men who are on the court were ejected...I have never seen that before!
For those who didn't see it, I'm sure ESPN will be all over it but here is what happened....
J.R Smith went up for a score (he had a pretty show-boat dunk a couple of minutes before) and Marty Collins fouled him HARD! J.R. Smith got up went after Collins then Nate Robinson stepped in. J.R. Smith was shoved by Robinson, Smith shoved back and threw a punch. Smith missed the punch and Robinson was able to get on top of him IN THE FRONT ROW where the camera personel are. That was defused pretty effiecently then, Carmelo Anthony and Marty Collins started jawing at each other, and out of nowhere Anthony throws a right and conects right on Collins jaw. Collins went down, then Robinson, and Jeffries went after Anthony then all h.ell broke loose! CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY!

My notes I think the fight was a result of the feud between Isiah and Karl, neither guy has liked one another, and that showed when Karl left his starters in for the final minutes of a blowout.

Obviously Collins fouled Smith hard, but Collins did the right thing there in not allowing an easy basket opportunity. It was a hard foul with some malice, but it was Nate that really escalated things barking in Smith's face afterward.

Carmelo however, was totally out of line. He has lost respect from myself and thousands of fans around the nation for delivering a punch like that to a unknown rookie player in Collins. That was a cheap shot, and a cowardly act. Not to mention he then fled to hide behind his teammates once Jeffries went after him. I thought it was bush league that after the game, none of the Nuggets were willing to talk about the fight, while every Knick player did.

One thing I noticed during the 100 replays I watched on MSG and ESPNnews, Carmelo put his hand on the necks of both Jeffries and Nate instigating further chaos. I think that should add another toll to his punishment, and could be given up to 10 games.

Great observations I totally agree with you NyYanks2oo6...Its a shame that stars in the NBA continually ruin their reputation. Carmelo is never going to seen the same again. Coming into the league he was seen as a National Champion in Syracuse, then became an Olympian and now this.....Too bad

I didn't see it. I've been reading about it on Fox Sports. They seem to infer it was instigated by Karl leaving his starters in when the Nuggets were up by 19 with a minute and a half left. Apparently there's this feud between Karl and Thomas, over the Larry Brown affair, and Karl was trying to show the Knicks up on their home court. Thomas said he even told Anthony just before the fight that he and Camby shouldn't have been on the floor. Smith had just made a reverse dunk shortly before, so Collins didn't want it happening again, and took care of business. Karl refused to say why his starters were still in the game.

So now I'll be searching the web tomorrow for video.

Couldn't agree more. I don't blame Robinson for being agitated, of course he was gonna back up Collins and mouth of to Smith. But Carmelo, who it seemed the NBA was trying to make its cornerstone player this year, was out of his mind. The scuffle was over, why punch somebody? And the puink backed up pretty quickly once Jefferies headed fo him. Carmelo should really get a nice long suspension for that one.

I doubt there is anyone who hasn't seen the incident but here it is! Listen to Anthony's punch at :43 seconds in the video and then his moonwalk.
