Ok, while we wait for our boys from the Bronx to start the second season, a great thing is happening in college football: The U is on the right path back to prominence!

In fact, after two games against top 20 teams (FSU and GT), they look like they are truly on their way back to the top.

Giuseppe is hoping there's some more 'Canes fans around here...there's gotta be! They're the adopted NCAA FB team for NYC I said!

Regardless, it was a great beat down of Georgia Tech, and if they follow it up next week against VT ... lookout!!

Salud, J12!

I know live down here in Fl. and will tell you that I was never a Canes fan because of the way they ran their program. They have done a lot of good things to clean up their program, brought in a no BS coach and moved to the shark stadium where the Dolphins play since the Orange bowl was a complete pig pen with no parking bad area, which has brought out a lot of fans. I will probably go to a couple of games this year and like everyone else see good results from this team and they will keep inmproving. I am not a band wagon guy because I like Penn State but I will go with the U down here.

I live in SoFla also. Randy Shannon has turned it around and the kids he brought in are doing very well academically. And Jacory Harris might be the next big thing in college football.

I disagree on the Orange Bowl though. Yes it was old, but it was a classic, and the place got packed and loud (even when they stunk). Parking on some guy's lawn in Little Havana for $10 was a trip! Now, it's $25 to park at Landshark. True, it's more comfortable, but the place won't ever get the home field edge the OB had.

It probably won't be packed unless they get to the Orange Bowl game (although if the beat VT on Saturday, it'll be interesting to see what happens when OU comes in the following week).

As for the Nittanys, they look real good. I pull for 'em, too.

Tough day for both the Canes and Lions. Penn St. has now lost 7 of the last 8 against Iowa.

I watched a bit of the FSU-South Florida game, what a stinker for the Noles. After putting up 54 on Byu, they stunk it up against the Bulls. Grothe's backup put up some decent numbers rushing and passing, still made some bad throws that the Noles couldn't capitalize on.

There will be some changes in the top 25 this week as a number of teams lost.

Roll tide!!!!!!!!

Wacky week for sure. Cal getting creamed, Canes getting wrecked, Penn...

Meanwhile the frickin' Gaytors still remain #1 except, they still haven't beaten anyone. At all. Anyone.

I like the Tide this year. Saban's a freak, but a great recruiter and head coach. They're playing very well.
