I won't blame Torre 100% for Arods troubles but I will blame him and Giambi for yapping too much to the media (verducci mainly).

You can't blame those guys for trying to rid the Yankees of the most selfish player that has ever dawned a Yankee Uniform. After a Yankee win while asked about his poor performance "well I'll tell you everything is coming together, I had a couple of swings tonight that made me feel comfortable", again after a Yankee loss and again an Arod poor performance, " I had another couple of good swings tonight and I felt real comfortable out there". I must of heard this how many times last season coming from his mouth. At no time did he mention that there where 24 other guys on his team that helped the Yankees it was always I felt comfortable tonight instead of the guys picked me up tonight and tomorrow I will pick them up. This is what both Mussina and Giambi ask of Arod to except his role on the team as a team player, veteran and leader not be a Tiger Woods a guy that produces with only his caddy on the course. Everyone knows a guy on the job or when they played sports, someone so into themselves that the thought of using the word we is completely foreign to them how long does a guy like that have working relationships with their coworkers or fellow athletes. Arod is that I player and he himself is the cause of the animosity that he may feel coming his way. Think about this, for the possible thousands of hours you have watched Jeter play and be interviewed have you ever heard him say anything to promote himself? When he has a bad game he shakes it off, he tells the interviewer that he had an off nigh but his team mates picked him up when the Yankees are doing badly he is the first to say my play needs to improve as well as the teams play you never here the word "I" come out of his mouth and he would never tell a sports reporter that he had a couple good swings and felt comfortable if he struck out 3 or 4 times with runners in scoring position as Arod has done last season.

Nevada, it's not selfish for a player to comment that his swing is coming around. There's 162 games a season, you can't expect A-Rod to be killing hiself after every loss.

I don't get where all the A-Rod haters are coming from by saying Alex is selfish. All of his actions that I have seen indicate that he is more of a team player. Wiling to move to 3rd with out complaint, (heck he was willing to take less money when the trade talks with Boston were going on). How is talking about what you did wrong or need to do better in a team loss (Acknowledging that you can and need to do better) selfish? I haven't seldom seen the media ask Alex about other players on the team which is probably why we don't hear him talk about them much. I believe there was a quote on SI where someone asked Alex about the Yankees trading Wang (pre-regular season 06) and he said nooo way he's too good. In one of his journal entries last year Alex gave lots of praise to Johnny Damon (after it was announced that he was going to sign with the Yankees). He also said good things about Mientkiewicz (sp?) when Cashman asked. I have also seen him give kudos to Mo and a few others on the team. Alex also seems to be fairly forgiving he still seems to be friendly with Giambi even after the SI article came out (probably learning from his own past mistakes).

Jeter is in a different position than Alex, as the captain he is usually asked about the team in general, thus he tends to talk more in terms of the team, which is understandable.
