Mariano is probably one of, if not, the greatest reliever of all time--However as with all humans in a couple ( 3) years he wilol slow down--Who is to substitute him? Why should Yankee brass not be thinking NOW of preparing his successor--I would suggest--Chamberlain.smile

Well in our system it is a couple people. Joba, JB Cox, Humberto Sanchez, orDellin Betances

I think we should go after Huston Street or Chris Volstad

Sanchez is the guy. He has great life and 2 plus plus pitches. His curve is MLB average but not great. Also Sanchez has never pitched more then 138 innings anywhere in the minors. Make him a dominate reliever. JB Cox is not a closer, I know he did for Texas but he doesn't have the stuff to profile as a shut down closer. Mark Melanchon(sp) would be the next guy if they don't go with Sanchez. He has 2 plus pitchess and was the saves leader at Arizona,

No to Joba and Delllin. Both are starters and would be better there then anywhere else. Dellin is 6'8" or taller and it's hard for tall pitchers to keep their mechanics in check which would be harder for a reliever since you less time to find your arm slot.
