hello everyone, new tothe post. been a yankee fan since lindy mcdaniel, jim mason, stick, bobby, ron bloomberg and horace clark to name a few. i can actually remember when fanswereable to go on the field in between double headers. (double headers?-how many know that they existed?) my pet peeve are the so-called yankee classics. why not show yankee games from the '50 and '60's. i like the '77 &'78 stuff, but whatabout showing action when the games really were a game. i would love to see great players from that era.

join the club.... i think it has something to do with owning the rights to those games, which some here say YES does not.

and welcome!

I agree too. I would love to see a Yankees classic of a game played at the old Yankee Stadium before it was closed in 1973. I remember the old auxilliary scoreboardson the outfield walls by thye bleachers, the monuments on the field in deep center field, the real Death Valley, which was 457 to left center and 463 to dead center where the monuments were. I remember going to a Yankees-Orioles game when THurman Munson hit a ball to dead center and Paul Blair raced all the way to the monuments and caught it, about 460 feet away. Right field was 296 ft to the foul pole.

I saw a few games there and I wish they would show some of those games. It really brings back not only great baseball but some great times. What a way to watch the outfields run down the balls, I think if it was hit hard enough past the monuments Jason Giambi may have gotten an inside the parker. Ha!
