Strahan: 'We're All Excited' About London Trip

The Giants⁈⁚ trip to London is now, finally, official. They will play the Miami Dolphins at the new Wembley Stadium on Oct. 28 in the first NFL regular-season game to ever be held overseas.

bigben.jpgThe game will be played at 6 p.m. in England, which will make it a 1 p.m. start in New York, and it will be televised on Fox. It⁈⁚s likely the two teams will either arrive a little early or stay a few days after the game to do some promotional work, too.

⁈Å"Most players probably don⁈⁚t even have a passport, but we⁈⁚re all excited,⁈ Michael Strahan said. ⁈Å"We have to realize the world is a big place and people out of our country care about what we do.⁈

The travel details remain sketchy, but the Giants are tentatively planning to fly out the Friday before the game. And Strahan, who grew up in Germany, said there should be no worries about the Giants maintaining their normal routine in an abnormal setting.

⁈Å"We⁈⁚ll just set Big Ben back five minutes,⁈ he said. ⁈Å"That⁈⁚ll keep everybody on schedule.⁈

Strahan, who spoke to the media today for the first time since his infamous locker-room blowup in late November, was also asked which he thought would be easier: Getting a smile out of Tom Coughlin or a Royal Guard.

⁈Å"It will definitely be easier to get a smile out of a Royal Guard,⁈ Strahan said. ⁈Å"I⁈⁚m just kidding. Tom Coughlin has been smiling a lot lately.⁈

I haven't really been paying attention to this London game. Would this be game 1 of the Giants season?

Not sure if it would be the first game but I don't think so. Both teams get a bye week after it and the Dolphins are the designated home team for the game.

And since the Dolphins are the home team, I'll be interesting to see who London will cheer for.

Giants

Both teams will have a bye scheduled for the following week.

I don't think it's going to be game one of the season, more like 6th or 7th game, near the middle of the season.
