Jamal Who?

jamal lewis gets canned

Yesterday
the Baltimore Ravens annouced the release of record holding running
back Jamal Lewis. It wasn't too long ago Lewis was the premiere
running back in the NFL. With his perfect combonation of size and
speed, he plowed over his opponents in demoralizing fashion.

His 295 yards against the Cleveland Browns holds the record for the
most ever in a single game. Combine that with a single-season rushing
record of 2,066 yards (second all-time) and you'd think we'd be talking
HOF material, right? Wrong. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Drung
dealing, prison, lack of dedication to football and injuries have
plagued Jamal Lewis to the point of no return. It's suprising the
Ravens have held on to him this long. Last season was Lewis' worst in
his entire career as a starter. Is there anything that would make a
team want to pick him up off the waiver wire? Yes, it's called
desperation and its rampid in the NFL. In this cookie cutter league
full of "what have you done for me lately"attitude of GMs around the
league, there are plenty of teams that will take a gamble on Lewis. It
may be too little too late.

Jamal Lewis. Perfect idea.

Yes, but you have a running back as a free agent. At least we don't have to give anything up. All the talk about Willis McGahee, we'd have to give up a player. But Lewis would be a good pickup.
