Jimmy, I picked alot of underdog covers this week. Houston, Oakland, 49ers, Eagles and the Bills. The one straight up pool I'm in, I'm tied for the lead for the season, so I had to play conservative, didn't really go against the norm.

When I put together my nightmare scenario, I didn't follow through on the Redskins.

I finally worked out why they pass the Giants if they win their last two, and the Giants lose their last two.

The teams would've tied head-to-head, and would be tied in the NFC East at 3-3 each.

Aside from the head-to-head, they would have played 12 games each vs. common opponents.

The Giants would be 6-6, having beaten the Eagles twice, and the Jets, Dolphins, Lions, and Bears once each, and having lost to the Cowboys twice, and the Packers, Bills, Patriots, and Vikings once each.

But in winning their last two, the Skins would be 7-5, having beaten the Vikings, Eagles, Lions, Jets, Bears, Dolphins, and Cowboys, and having lost to the Cowboys, Eagles, Patriots, Packers, and Bills.

Essentially, if the Skins beat the Vikings and Cowboys back to back, they'll have earned it. I think it's unlikely that they'll be able to do this, but if they do, they'll have deserved it more than the Giants.

I still see the main threats as the Vikings, would beat the Giants if they just tie them, and the Saints, who beat the Giants on conference record, and if theirs a 3-way tie, Saints become #5 on conference record, and Vikings knock the Giants out on head-to-head.

Root for the Vikings to eliminate the Skins, and then root hard for the Eagles vs. the Saints as well.

Better yet, if the Giants somehow manage to win today's game in Buffalo, far from a given, that ends the matter as well.
