Try being realistic, we all know Zito won't be a Yankee.

Wang, Mussina, Pettite, Johnson, Igawa

^ What we will most likely see in 2007. Matsui will also start in LF - Melky will not replace him...

Zito and Hughes will not be in the rotation and as for Pettite could be but well see

realistic lineup will be

Wang

Moose Randy

Pavano

Igawa

Igawa is not going to the pen and Pavano will not be traded and most definite Matsui will not be the D.H. and shouldn't be.

because first of all Matsui at DH means Giambi at first, and the gain in left with Melky doesn't make up for the loss at first with Giambi. and you're not taking Giambi's bat out for Phillips' glove.

Melky will get 400 ABs next year, it'll just be from rotating him throughout the three spots in the OF to give each guy a day off per week. Even that's probably a bit overly optimistic for how much playing time he'll get. But if you take that assumption with sprinkling in Giambi sitting one day a week and DHing Abreu or Matsui for that day, then Melky's in four days a week in the OF somewhere.

It seems like melky doesn't fit in the puzzle. I won't be suprised if he is packaged away in a trade of some sort.

I like Melky, but cmon, he's not 10 times better than Matsui lol. Matsui is an adequate outfielder and better hitter, he's gonna play the majority of games in left.
