The trade that makes perfect sense

This trade makes perfect sense for both teams but has not been talked about at all.

Pat Burnell for Pavano.

$28 million for two years for $20 million for two years.

Burnell could be the right hand hitting first baseman that we need and he wants to play for the Yankees

Pavano does not want to be a Yankee is only months away from saying he cannot play in 2007 because he has a yeast infection.

Is there any Yankee fan that would not make this trade in a minute?

do you mean Pat Burell from the Phillies?? He is an outfielder not a 1st baseman and we dont need anymore of those. Also he could not handle Philly what makes you think he could handle New York

There are a lot of people on these boards that believe that any OF can play 1B. It is sort of foolish. Not saying it isn't impossible, but we can't put an OF at 1B or vice versa when players are veterans.

This is a perfect joke! tongue

Why would you want to spend 28 mil on a streaky right-handed outfielder? Pitchers with above average sliders will eat him alive. Not to mention he is not a first baseman.

I am Yankee fan who lives in south Jersey, 5 miles from Philly. Phillies Outfielder Pat Burrell is a strikeout machine who couldn't handle the pressure of playing in New York city. Besides he has an unbelieveable amount of money left on his contract. The Yankees won't be able to get rid of Carl Pavano until he proves that he is healthly enought to pitch this season. If he is healthly Cashman will probadly keep him. If he was afraid of playing in New York, Philadelphia will not be a bed of roses for him either.

how bout we just get Jack Nicholson to play first base. He can scare the $h!t out of any balls hit his way. That'll work great.

God, where do these people come up with these trade ideas? Crack-heads-R-Us?

Don't quit. One day, people will realize that real Baseball isn't a video game. You can't just put anyone at 1st, teams generally don't want to take a 20 million dollar pitcher who hasn't thrown a pitch in a major league game in almost two years, etc.
