Jimmy, like I said, the players seem to get bigger and bigger and they need more room on the ice. By the way, I saw you guys talking about the Soviets. 1972 was the greatest series in hockey history when Canada beat them, New Years Eve 1975 was one of the greatest games ever played when Red Army tied Montreal 3-3 but yes when they would not come back on the Ice against Philly, they got their reputation. The Miracle on Ice at the Olympics showed everyone that if you want it bad enough, you could do it, Russia had the best goalie ever in my opinion, Vladislav Tretiak but leadership and perserverance is better than that.

I didn't see that post before, but the 1987 series against Russia was the one I will remember the best, actually the whole tournament, Gretzky and Lemieux playing on the same line was unbelievable. That is when Mario learned how to be a leader and within 3 years the Penguins won the cup and became the man he is today.

yeah, that was the one... gretzky and lemieux were unstopable... gretzky showed what he was made of in that series, he wasn't jealous of lemieux coming up and stealing some of his glory, if they came down on a 2 on 1 gretzky passed the puck and didn't try and score every time and actually puit the team and his country first

sorry Win, not me. I have a tough enough time remembering who plays for every team in the NHL. Does Montoya play goal for them? He's supposed to be a good one.
