the invincible soviets

yeah they were great but they played nhl all stars who never played with each other, the soviets all played and practiced together for years.. when the soviets played the broad street bullies in phily, those sissy's got banged around in the first period and refused to come out for the 2nd until they were told they wouldn't be paid.. and they were supposed to be soldiers...LOL.. when they played the gretzky oilers they got a beaten

Okay, here is my theory, I played and still play rec hockey, I told you I coached and some great players but the players are so much bigger now and they have 4 refs on the ice, too many. I hate to go away from the rules of the game, but you have seen the OT's for the last few years. The NHL wanted a change after the strike, well lets go 4 on 4 and see what happens, quick, fast paced action and no shootouts. In my opinion that's the only way that the pace will improve, as I stated to you before, Bettman ruined the game and the teams are watered down with players that should not be there.

the canada cup in the early 80's between canada and the soviets has to go down as the most exiting series as far as just back and forth up and down hockey... it was truly great , yet your never gonna see that on espn classics
