What a guy!

⁈Å"I cannot leave my teammates and join another NHL club at this time,⁈ Sundin added. ⁈Å"I have never believed in the concept of a rental player. It is my belief that winning the Stanley Cup is the greatest thing you can achieve in hockey but for me, in order to appreciate it you have to have been part of the entire journey and that means October through June. I hope everyone will understand and respect my decision.⁈

He really puts to shame players like Ray Borque who did not have a problem jumping ship and "winning" the cup with another team. Kudos to my man Mats

You are so wrong.

He is the man, a captain and a leader. He wants to win but not as a rental. He loves the team he plays for and wants them to be successful. How can you find that as a sign of lack of will is hard to comprehend.

If the Yanks don't win for a while, would you approve if, say, Wang or Joba asked to be traded to the contender to get a ring or stayed with the Yanks to try to win the next year?

i certainly would understand it if they wanted a chance to win, especially when the team wants to trade ya...i stand by my opinion that anybody that refuse a trade from a bad team to a contender doesnt have winning as his top goal

Jimmy, any rumors floating around in Ranger land. All the sports channels up here started live trade day coverage early this morning and the only move so far is Prospal going to the Flyers. Fletcher was brought in to help the Leafs rebuild for the future but his hands are tied, none of the slugs will give up there no trade clause. Sundin could go to Anaheim For Bobby Ryan and a 1st RD pick, the Leafs could resign him in the summer, he won't do it. The only one that might move is McCabe who the Rangers have interest in. Tucker, Kaberle and Kubina won't give in, ticks me off, getting rid of McCabe, Tucker and Kubina would open up some cap room but other teams are smart enough to realize the price is too high for their greatly diminishing skills.

no, its quiet around here.. the only name that the rangers had going was boyle from tampa and he resigned with them... i dont like mccabe, i think he like leetch is overrated because of his sexy offensive pp points while not playing too much defense... i'll take tucker.. wow , if anaheim got sundin they would roll... how would they fit him under their cap ?? i thought they had to squeeze in neidameyer and selanne?

I'm not sure what cap room they have left but if they add someone now I don't think it will hurt them for this season. Burke wants to add an impact player, he has been in contact with Florida about Jokinen. He wants Anaheim to stay well ahead of San Jose and Detroit. I think right now they are gonna repeat. Selanne had 5 points on Sun. night. colorado is gonna try to make a run to stay in playoff contention, sakic is back in the lineup and they signed Forsberg for the rest of the season.
