Big Bubbas' BBQ

We went to Big Bubbas' BBQ at Mohegan Sun saturday. It was a decent place reasonably priced, although the portions were on the small size. They sat us at a table for 2 and the wait staff was extremely friendly and casual. It was a very nice environment. Now seated at the table next to us was a guy and girl, and the waiter asks them if they are ready to order, they say yes.

It becomes obvious they are vegetarians (not the best choice of a restaurant for vegetarians), and a little on the odd side, the restaurant apparently did not serve bottled water, but they insisted on a glass of ice to put their own bottled water in ( I wonder if they realized the irony). Needless to say a few minutes go by and the waiter is standing there as the girl (who just said she is ready to order) decides to go through the menu again. I am watching the waiter fidget a bit (the place was busy) and I hear the girl say this "I would like the salad with extra cucumbers and lettuce, but not that much lettuce"

I stop eating for a second as I try to comprehend the words and I see a dazed look on the waiters face, you could almost see his brain working overtime trying to figure out how to reply to woman. At the end of our meal, the couple next to us got up and left and the waiter came back over to our table when I say to him, did that girl really say that? He said thank God someone else heard it, I had no clue hat to say but "Excellent choice".

ROTF

Love Big Bubba's, but if you want better BBQ with larger portions... Virgil's BBQ on 47th (or 46th? I am bad with specifics, but its right off of Times Sq... the only downside is the tourists, but if you go for lunch or time it so its not inbetween Broadway shows, it won't take you long to be seated...)

Used to order from them all the time when I worked in midtown... Great food, generous portions.

And its not vegetarian friendly, although one could conceivably fill up on their side dishes...
