what got damon back to doing well was torre leaving mely in centerfield and using damon as the dh , it gave damon the time he needed to get his legs healthy again

not only did omar do that but he traded some young kids from the farm for conine, that move made no sense at all

Actually, Giambi helped things along by going on the DL. This allowed Damon to play almost a full-time DH for a while until they discovered that Damon can play left field and do minimum damage with his arm since there aren't that many plays at the plate from left. And it also showed Joe that Melky has the best arm in the outfield.

i just hope they only ue giambi as a pinch hitter in the playoffs now , now that i think about it they have no choice but to use him that way with matsui being the dh
