From a Mets fans perspective

The Yankees became a much better team once A Rod joined them after his stint on the DL. Do you really think if you took Derek Jeter off the team they would fall apart?

Mets fans are going to hate this but I honestly believe the Mets stink and have no heart or soul.

Good luck in dreaming about post seasons of past. I don't see any in the future.

Oh, before you say something crass, a lot of Met fans were very smug about the Mets in the starts of both '07 and '08 seasons. They were the most hated team in the NL because of comments the players make. Karma. Karma baby.

Someone needs to dig up the Indian burial ground that you built *hitty Field. Can anything go right in that dump?

Derek Jeter or A-Rod by himself could out hit your entire line-up. Even posterboy David Wright.

If DJ or A Rod played on the Mets this season they would have wound up spraining or tearing something.

Here we go again, another Jeter A-Rod comparison. You do realize how sick and tired Yankee fans are of this debate don't you? Once again this is an apples and oranges comparison. Both players have a different set of skills and I am very happy about having both guys on my team. A-Rod is a gifted athlete that puts up astronomical stats and is one of the best players in the history of the game. He's a middle of the order hitter. Jeter is a table setter who is a proven winner and clutch player. I appreciate you wishing us luck in the PS, but this comparison is old and tired.

I know I not a muet fan but since you are here...I just wanted to tell you this. First of all it's called Karma. Muetfans did not respect Carlos Delgado last year...without him and his rbi's you guy would have been in deep do. The lack of respect for his big bat came back to haunt you in this year with his loss early and for most of the season.

This year your best player is Castillo, here's another guy that gets no respect from the fans. He's one of the few pros on the entire team and I for one would make him Team Captain. If I were muetmanagement I would go 8 yrs/120 million contract extension with full no-trade. When he hangs up his number (insert uni number here) I think that you should have a big Castillo Day at Shea, I'd invite Tony Bernazard back to be Master of Ceremonies. I'd do Dragon Boat races in the park with Tony B as the judge. It'll cost a little money but what the heck...give respect and fly guys in even if they live in Flushing.

Oh, so you wanna talk about postseason, too? How about the 2006 NLCS Game 7??? That one had to sting, huh? Losing on your home field to the eventual World Series champions. Another time the team to win the title went straight through you, along with the Phillies last year, your arch rivals.

Add that to the aformentioned chokes in 2007 and 2008, and 2004 doesn't even come close to equaling your team's failures.

Thats when my extreme dislike for the mets started. I never saw them as a threat b4 because in my lifetime the yankees were the team of the town and whatever they did it never bothered me. But in 2007 when the yanks started off slow(like they always do) and the mets started off hot whether it was tv, friends, radio, newspapers, or the internet all I heard was this is becoming a met town, mets have a future, yankees have no future, mets have prospects, yankees have no prospects, mets this mets that blah blah blah. That bothered me to no end but as we all know the mets stumbled down the stretch and the yankees had a great second half.

Derek Jeter fans are going to hate this but I honestly believe A Rod is the heart and soul of your team.

A-Rod is the better player but that does not make him the heart and soul of the team. The whole idea of the term "heart and soul" is to look beyond the numbers.

I know a lot of Yankee fans who agree with me, it's just the Derek Jeter fans who can't accept it. The fact that I am a Mets fan doesn't really make a difference because none of us are in the Yankees lockeroom.

Obviously. So then what was the point of the thread when you acknowledge it doesn't matter what anybody thinks since none of us are in the clubhouse?

In regards to A-Rod or Jeter, everyone has their opinions. As long as our Yankees are in unison in regards to playing as a well cohesive team, I don't much care who is the leader. Thanks for the good wishes, it's well appreciated.
