Im just letting you know that there is a 0% chance that Yi isn't on next years team. They are committed to his development... they dealt away RJ for him. They aren't just letting him walk away at this age.

I disagree because u dont know the reason why the nets traded for YI it could be for his talent or they just wanted his expiring contract to sign a big gun in the future and i doubt they want Yi's talent right know and anway the nets got rid of 14 mill off the budget for next year to sign someone so they tried to do 2 things at once but it didn't work out at least one did

I do. It was for two reasons... they wanted to enter rebuilding mode. If they wanted talent.. they would have kept RJ. They are developing youth, and Yi's expiring contract has nothing to do with it. Why would the Nets take Bobby Simmons along with Yi if they wanted expiring contracts? Simmons has a large contract, and clearly isn't a great player. They were told if they wanted Yi so bad, they would have to take Simmons too.

Also, they did it for marketing. The Chinese media covers the Nets a lot now, and Yi is an international star. The Nets wanted to spread their brand to China.

The Nets still believe Yi is a potentially special player, and they won't drop him to save a nickle.

They took both simmons and yi for their contracts because in the year 2010 there will be a lot of free agents on the market, so they never wanted simmons because of his talent, they tried 2 do things things at once but couldn't improve Yi. they thought Yi can improve from last season but didn't, actually got worse, so i think there's still a chance the nets can trade him to seal a deal with someone but i get u, the nets still have faith in Yi so i guess he stays more than he goes.

Yi needs:
Also Yi was never good defensively or rebounding for his size he is like 7.0 feet right.
he needs 2 hit the weight room and eat more meat, he might be a bit slower but it is so worth it
and be better in the paint i remember he used 2 miss dunks all the time

Lineup 2009-2010

PG- Devin Harris
SG- Vince Carter
SF- James Johnson (Draft pick)
PF- Yi (if he has a good offseaon)
C- Brook Lopez
