honestly, I don't know...it's why I posted it..it's 1956...Don Larsen's perfect game...Isuppose we could look up the line up; but Clipper would think we were cheating...I'll pray for divine intervention or some sort of vision...we should be able to figure it out by process of elimination...I know it's not Bobby Richardson or Danny McDevitt (HAH!)...you are probably right...you are pretty much always right...I think I'm going to cheat and look it up just to be sure...do you suppose Clipper is going to really lay into me for posting something I didn't know the answer to?...

I think it is Martin.  I'm pretty much always right!!!! HA! Tell that to the Mrs and the girls.  As for clip laying into you, he is very understanding and I am sure he will be kind.  However, if he is not ..... who are you and why are you talking/writing to me?

yep,, I looked it up...you are right...aah, your answer is right and, yes, you are also always right...this is very difficult for me to deal with soo-o, moving right along...Mrs. B and both of the girls also know that you are always right; but they sometimes respond the way they do to make certain you are relentlessly practicing your humility...I was very surprised to discover who the SS was in this aforementioned game (what a ridiculous word!)...who was the SS...want me to gve you his uniform #?...

we both would have had the same wrong answer..isn't that rather remarkable?...he wore uniform #12...and I remember him more at 3B...maybe even a little bit of 2B...but never recall him at SS..

Gil McDougal was the shortstop, 3B was Andy Carey, Moose was at 1B.the  Scooter was released on Old Timer's Day to make room for the required veteran OF Enos Slaughter from the A's. Also Jerry Lumpe was a reserve infielder on the 1956 Yankees.

There were games that the old Yankee Stadium had crowds of 72,00 fans before the 1937 Remodeling. There were only 23,700 fans at the Maris HR#61 game and less than 40,000 fans for the 1960 All Star Game.
