i've got it on Gameday at work. 15 pitches first inning, 8 for strikes. I hope they get a few runs off of him.

I wasn't really impressed with Dice-K (maybe a little biasedwink), but he left quite a few pitches up, and he threw some flat breaking balls. Also, he's throwing 91 mph on his fastball and he didn't show much control with it. However, his changeup (gyroball??wink ) has a good downward break. So far his stuff looks decent, but if that's all he has, I don't think he is going to be as good as many people think he is going to be. Still, it's only my 1st impression, he may pitch a shutout, but if he keeps throwing like he's throwing, he's going to give up a few runs.

Zack Grienke looks good though...smile

especially Ortiz didn't even bother to swing the bat once.

Lowell leadoff 2nd with a single. Varitek flied out, Crisp K'd; Pedroia ground out. Still 1-0

Royals fans show two signs; Who needs Dice-K when we have Grein-K .smile

Gordon flied out to Manny; Shealy hit it pretty well but only line out to Drew; Gload K'd (1st K for Dice-K)

Probably due to cold weather, Matsuzaka's control looks so so.

Top of 3rd; Lugo on with an infield hit (smell of trouble); Youkilis popped out to 2nd; Papi K'd for the 2nd time (tatally 7 pitches); Manny hit anothe infield single, 2 out 2 on; KC's 3rd baseman plays lousy so far; Drew hit a slow roller in front of plate for a gound out. Still 1-0 Sox.

Come on Royals!

Buck K'd; Tony Pena ground out; Dejesus flied out. 1-0 Sox End of 3

Matsuzaka's stats look great so far but the pitching contents are ok. Royals announcers said they see some similarities in him and David Cone. I would say Conny has much better control on breaking pitches than Dice-K.

uh-oh, Lowell hit a leadoff double; Veritek flied out to center; Crisp ground out to 2nd, runner to 3rd; Greinke K'd Pedroia to end the inning.

Greinke actually pitches very well against good lineup of Boston's. 4 inning, 1R on 5H, and 4 Ks

Bottom of 4th; German K'd; Teahen K'd as well; Brown down on K; Dice-K is in a groove now.

Still puzzled by Royals desicion on replaing Mike Sweeney with another right handed bat, Brown. Unless Sweeney is hurt, it makes no sense at all.

If Dice-K continues to dominate the Royals, we are gonna hear about the Red Sox ticker tape parade plans for the next 5 days until he pitches again. Espn really needs a competitor. I remember when cnn used to have a pretty good sports show.

Some pitches are 92 and 93 with late movement and great curveball too.
