Hers is the most over the top opinion on the boards, always has been since the day I started reading the posts on here. She contradicts herself from post to post and changes sides in different threads. Even in the face of overwhelming proof that there were no moves available to be made to help the team through FA last year, she still couldn't grasp the fact that the team was much more stable than she likes to admit.

Just look at the team the front office put on the field to start the season

  • 1B-The weakest position on the team, no FA's available to upgrade with, so he added a gold glove .270 hitting guy who is great in the clubhouse. Sorry to say, but there were no all-stars on the market before the season began no matter how much people wish it to be true.
  • 2B-Cano hit .340, one of the top 2B's in baseball
  • Shortstop- Jeter
  • 3B A-Rod
  • Catcher-Posada
  • LF- Matsui, one of the most consistent guys in baseball
  • CF-Damon....even though he has struggled, NOBODY can truly say they thought he would struggle hitting this bad, but he is still producing runs, which is a leadoff mans job
  • RF-Abreu hit .330 for us last year, and has been a consistent player his whole career. Even though he is having a bad year, he is still producing runs at a high rate.
  • Bench-it was supposed to be Melky and Cairo, backup C was weak, but none were available to add, and one became available, he jumped on it.
  • Bullpen-was supposed to be a strength according most preseason reports.
  • Starting pitching- was one part where we needed help, but the org was waiting on Hughes to be a big help, and he added pettitte, one of the top FA pitchers available.

The only people who can claim this was a 2nd place team in March are hindsight specialists

You and I both know Cashman is too stupid of a GM to pull off a trade like this.

Please, there is no way the Yankees wanted to part with top prospects, end of story. If he traded Hughes for a first basemen, then I would admit he was pulling off a stupid trade......And Cashman is too stupid to pull off a good trade?

Does A-Rod ring a bell?

Yea Cashman, trade for everybody. Give up any and all prospects so we can win this wildcard and lose in the first round. The Braves gave up nothing, only the best young hitting prospect in all of baseball and two big time arms. Why are we sitting on our rears with our 200 million dollar payroll. Buy buy buy......................and then fire fire fire. Look at me, Im your typical head up his a** i diot fan who wouldnt know a baseball from his own balls.

It's not hard to see the only reason the team has struggled is not because we weren't ready for the season, but that the team just hasn't lived up to expectations. If we were getting even average seasons vs their career stats at each position, we would be in great shape record wise. Add to that, the Sox were off the charts the first two months of the season.

Let's be realistic, the injuries, and the fact that starting pitching was hit hard with them from the beginning of the year has put us in the hole we are in, nothing more than that. It put a strain on the offense, trying to make up for poor pitching, and wore out the pen early.
