In a sence yes. When a QB straps on his helmet for the minicamps his goal is to win the Super Bowl. All these guys will tell you that they could care less about the records as long as they win a super bowl. Marino did not win one.

ok so by your theory then Trent Dilfer back in 2000 was the best qb cuz he had the most wins? McNabb had a bad yr, bulger was hurt but if you tell me that they haven't shown over the last few yrs that they're better then Eli then we can end this conversation based on your lack of knowledge. I thought my post had Garrard in the Eli catagory because he's only started one yr but I don't recall exactly what I had. Eli isn't all the sudden one of the best in the league cuz of 3 games, I never screamed for him to be benched and always supported him, he is what he is and that's an average to above avg qb who is still gaining experience and should continue to improve.

As an athlete your main goal is to win a championship. Eli manning is one win away from doing that. He has had one of the best starts to a career that any QB could ask for. He has won a division title, been to the playoffs every year he has started, won his conference, and his 2 halfs of football away from being a super bowl champ. I does not get much better then that. Most QB's dont get that kind of sucess in 20 years of duty let alone 4.

And has he or has he not been destroyed by New York fans?

These are two great examples of how you cant win in NY.

A-Rod has all the numbers but has not won a WS, so he is a failure

Eli not so much with the numbers, but has been a winner ever since he arrived in NY

Lots of avg qb's have made it to the superbowl, it's a good argument but if you have a team you're starting out are you taking eli

Palmer (better qb could use a defense though)

Farve (Superbowl and plenty of records)

Brees (can't ignore this dude)

Delhomme, Hasselback (all been to super bowl as well)

Bulger (1000 completions faster then any qb in history)

McNabb (Ok maybe on his downside but has a career worth of division titles and has been to super bowl as well)

I hear you about Eli, I've always been behind him but 3 games in 3 weeks doesn't make him a top tier qb in the league.I think he'll get better but tell me, when he kept fumbling the ball against Buff in Dec didn't you want to kick your tv? I think 3 yrs in playoffs is great but one yr they were 8-8 and the other yr they got shutout at home. Even if he pulls of the miracle against NE, I need to see it for a yr or 2 on a consistent basis before I move him above any of the qb's above. He's a 3rd tier qb while Brady a d Peyton are top tier and the ones above our 2nd teir. Eli is prob in with Rothlesberger, Rivers, Anderson, and the like.

and he is still the best in the game, no question. How can people put Eli as one of the best now cuz of 3 games in 3 weeks? I love the GMEN, I've always been behind Eli but if I was starting my own team I would take the below ahead of him, at least if it was for 1 yr. Obv farve is a bit old to start a team with.

Brady, Peyton, Buldger, Palmer, DelHomme, Hasselback, Farve,

At the end of the day he has had his team in the playoffs. Over the last three years only Eli, Brady, Peyton and hasslbeck have been to the playoffs every year.
