i think we need a guy who is more of an everyday first baseman who is experienced and plays a great defensive 1B. doug m. looks like the right choice over loretta. but the fact that loretta can play all other infield positions makes him tempting because his bat and obp would fit right into the lineup. i dont like a platoon of phelps and phillips. i think phillips should not be on the team on opening day.
