if ever there was evidence of tom renney's incompetence here it is !!! maybe slats demands he be put on the pp to try to gain some easy points to justify that contract.. either way he's being rewarded for accomplishing nothing

Beginning with the Nov. 22 match in Ottawa, Wade Redden has played 32 games during which he has recorded one point on the power play in 89:34 of time, that an assist on the OT winner in Chicago on Jan. 16. In other words, Redden does not have a five-on-four PP point in almost three months while leading the club's point men in ice-time at 3:35 per. He has six PP points (1-5) overall.

Redden is overrated, but the PP is attrocious, its now ranked 27th at 14.5%, they're tied for last at 2.35 goals per game with Ottawa.

Washington might blow the doors off them tonight.

btw, another winner last night, only bet one hockey game and 3 NCAA. I bet the Leafs to lose and they blew a 4-1 lead to Florida. devilish

Tonight, I got Jersey, Buffalo, Dallas and 4 NCAA, Purdue, Wisconsin Oklahoma and Utah to all win by 6 or more. I got greedy. lol

Jimmy,

I know that Redden has been less than productive on he PP, but what are the options? And not for nothing it is tough IMO to single out Redden (despite the monster contract). The forwards are doing nothing either.

When you allow your best offensive weapon (Jagr) to walk. Turn your back on leadership and heart (Avery and Shanny) what do you expect to happen?

Ok, so here is my blockbuster idea. We are getting Avery back, so at least we are adding some heart and b@!!s. The only way that this team can make their PP and offense potent is to trade their most valuable commodity for some real punch. This means the King gets packaged. Then they can deal either Gomez or Drury for goaltender.

That and they need some leadership from the bench. Renney should be fired ASAP. They need a fiery presence behind the bench. Maybe Messier, or Terry Crisp. I know Tortorella is available too.

totally agree with fowards, theyre trash too and i'd jump at the chance for tortorella .. i remember him as a tougher assistant coach then renney is as head coach

because the cap handcuffs this team the ONLY way to improve the on ice talent is to deal Hendrik. As unpopular as this might sound, how else do they improve?
