Wasn't really a no brainer. Hedman and Tavares were pretty much a toss up IMO.

And Pronger is now a Flyer

The Rangers chose, Chris Kreider.
Note: He is the best skater on this draft. Lou -- Devils GM wanted him all along.

Krieder is an appealing #1 pick. His central scouting ranking lists him as one of the fastest skaters in the draft, quite a task as a 6 foot 200 lb. center. I don't think he'll remain at center throughout his career and I would think Coach York will make him into a power forward at BC. His play in HS has been impressive, I think that he'll lose some speed when he transitions from fast skater to fast and strong skater in the NCAA.

He is actually a surprising recruit for BC, he really doesn't fit Coach York's style of play. He's someone I would have loved to have had at Clarkson because I think he projects out similar to 3 former Clarkson players in the NHL. On the low end, think Capitals Captain Chris Clark, middle think Craig Conroy, and his high end potential would be an Erik Cole type player.
