He'll be 38 in January. Not a very good pick up.

I love Orr, can't stand Brashear. Guess I'll have to rethink that. I'll tell you this, Brashear might be tough, but not as tough as Orr. I'm disappointed for now, but at least the Rangers made a quick move to replace Orr, if you can call it that.

Yeah, because replacing orr was really a necessity especially with a goon like Brasher for 1.4 million.

I mean clearly the piece missing for the Pens this year was an enforcer who skates 4 minutes a game, if they had someone like that they might have won the cup. Same thing for Detroit last year.

Wake me up in 2011.

yeah and they went out and got him in eric goddard who protected crosby all last year !! if you dont know who he is he's the one who dropped orr the last game they played .. without those players your stars will get smashed all game long

Yeah and Goddard didn't play in the playoffs.

Who is he going to protect anyway?

I would have rather Sather got something the Rangers needed like scoring instead of Brashear on the first day.
Also you have to wonder what this does to the locker room after the hit to Betts last year.

Like I said, I've always hated Brashear. But he's been around the league for a long time and it's still a fact in the NHL - you have to have an enforcer, goon, tough guy, whatever you want to call him. Brashear will fight with anyone, Ranger brass must think he's ok? It's done now. I wish we still had Orr, oh well.frown

well there's not much fighting in the playoffs and there's not many willing to chance cheap shoting crosby in the playoffs so goddard isnt needed as much , so what ?? he did his job all year and if he didnt he wouldnt be there

were you one of the ranger fans that complained last year about lundquist getting run every game ?? well thats who he'll protect, our MVP
