They scored a combined 53 goals (average of 26 each) last season. When Gaborik is healthy, he's a 40-50 goal scorer by himself. Rangers needed a dominant goal scorer not someone who can score 20-30 goals and assist 50 times or whatever. They needed a DOMINANT goal scorer. they got one and a very good one. No, the Sedins are not as good as Gaborik.

Gaborik is a 50 goal scorer?

haha this is comical.

Dude has never put up more than 42 goals in a season but what you are gonna do is somehow take his best year's production and extrapolate it over 82 games?

YOu are kidding yourself if you think he lasts more than 60-65 games when his avg. since 03 is 54.

He scored 42 goals on a team when he pretty much had absolutely nobody. if you count last season (13 goals in only 17 games) he's averaging 30 goals a game. If you don't count last season, he's averaging about 38 goals a game, and that was with a team with a defensive style (rangers are going towards the more attack style under torts now) and pretty much no one.

If healthy (and he usually is about 65 games except those 2 years), he's a 40-50 goal scorer EASILY

I don't want you setting yourself up for a big disappointment.

Saying a guy who has scored 40 goals once and is like glass out there will "easily" score 40-50 goals is very wishful thinking.

Gaborik played under Lamaire's defensive system. I wouldnt say he would easily score 40-50 goal but its more likely with Torts system -- if he stays healthy.

Anybody who is compared to Pavano scares me.

Smileys but h.o.b. pretty much nailed it !! he's very talented but has been hurt alot but do you wanna give up our talented young kids for heatley or go this route ?? cant be scared that a player is gonna get hurt .. the rangers say they did their homework so we'll see .. if healthy its a very good signing

Gaborik when healthy is a top scorer, Donald B. was a stupid signing. He's a cheap shot artist, the Rangers should have signed Chris Neil. Yes, I know Neil re-signed, but he was out there for the right price.
