One of the Positives: Josh Boone

When we look back at the 2007-08 season, there⁈⁚s not much that we⁈⁚ll want to remember. And when looking at how each player performed, there are more negatives than positives. But we can say that Josh Boone was one of the positives. His development into a solid role player, averaging 9.7 points and 8.4 boards since becoming a rotation regular in early December, was a pleasant surprise

Dave D: Thorn Knows He Needs a ⁈Å"Stud⁈

Rod Thorn may not seem to have a plan, may claim he hasn⁈⁚t even started working on a plan, but Dave D⁈⁚Alessandro thinks Thorn knows ⁈Å"they cannot move up unless they acquire a stud⁈ . Who that stud might be and how he gets to Jersey remain a mystery. Dave also thinks: the Nets may move Marcus Williams for their⁈“and his⁈“own good; they⁈⁚ll probably go for a big in the draft; Richard Jefferson⁈⁚s ego is getting in the way; and Gana Diop may not command as big an offer as fans think.

BREAKING NEWS: Mavericks just got ELIMINATED from the playoffs by the Hornets, losing by a final score of 99-94 in New Orleans. Hornets win the series 4-1. Looks like Kidd DIDN'T make the Mavs any better than they were before. Oh well, Good luck. Nets on the other hand will be FINE with the young talent we got back in the trade cool

Ratner Goes Public

April 29, 2008, 8:05 am

In an interview on NY1, Bruce Ratner did not say when the Nets will move into their new Brooklyn arena or comment on a push to get them to move to Newark. But the Nets owner did talk about how he is proud of what he has already done shaping the skyline of Brooklyn and what he thinks the Atlantic Yard project can bring. He also talks about he was shocked at the reaction to the Kenyon Martin trade in 2004.

Dave D Chastises Net Fans for their Schadenfreude

April 29, 2008, 9:57 am

That⁈⁚s schadenfeude, getting smug pleasure from someone else⁈⁚s misfortune. And Dave D⁈⁚Alessandro says Nets fans are wallowing in it as they watch pictures of an aging Jason Kidd being beamed from Dallas. It⁈⁚s not that Kidd didn⁈⁚t deserve fans⁈⁚ anger. Dave recounts the reasons. But he says, really, it⁈⁚s not a positive emotion and fans should be recalling all the good Kidd did for six and a half years. Meanwhile, the New York Times has declared the Kidd-Harris trade ⁈Å"a mistake⁈ for Dallas.

Sean Williams: ⁈Å"Time to be a Pro⁈

April 29, 2008, 6:48 pm

Everyone on the Nets, starting with Rod Thorn, knows this is a big summer for Sean Williams, and that includes the rookie. Thorn says he wasn⁈⁚t surprised by Williams⁈⁚ rollercoaster of a season which ended, as Dave D⁈⁚Alessandro wrote, with him not much more than ⁈Å"ornamentation⁈ . Williams agrees he has to improve his basketball knowledge, strength and aggressiveness, but also has ⁈ to come in and be a pro.⁈

So the Nets have 3 picks in this year's draft, two 1st rd picks and one 2nd rd pick. I expect them to get a BIG MAN, a backup shooting guard for Vince Carter and a extra PFwd.
