you are correct...........THE SYSTEM IS THE MAIN REASON WE HAVE BEEN SHORT ON POWER PITCHING THE LAST 7 YEARS. cashman did not adjust fast enough, but he has done a sebsational job rebuilding the pitching. we should be dominant going forward...........torre had nothing to do with these problems..........the 2005 white sox, the 2006 tigers, the 2006 cardinal pen, and the 2007 indians and rockies all have the same thing in common.............STUD POWER PITCHING IN THE 6-9TH INNINGS..........from 1996-2000 that's what we had...........

Lack of hitting and pitching is a bad combo.

I hope so too but what were the alternatives? If Beckett pitched last night, who would have pitched tomorrow?

What happens is that the pitcher sets the tone..it's said all the time....if a pitcher gives up, let's say 2 runs in the first inning, already the hitters are trying to make it up, in effect, trying too hard. This makes them tense knowing that they HAVE to get that big hit now. We saw it happen at the beginning of the season which messed up most of the player, including your buddy Cano. Once the rotation settled in, the players got more comfortable and were able to relax at the plate.

Yankees managed to put up runs this postseason. If not for the pitchers, and that include the bullpen, we'd still be in. We lost Pettitte's game by one run. We lost the last game by two runs. It's the pitching..........

Schilling. Then Dice-K, then Beckett again in game 7. Unless I messed up the math smile, all 3 would have pitched those games on regular rest.

Bad pitching or is it the fact the Yanks were only able to score 1 run off a pitcher that the Red Sox scored like 5 off of, sorry but most of the time 1 run isn't going to win most if any games for you, game 4 they had so many opportunities and they kept grounding into dps, sure the pitching wasn't sparkling but it was good enough for the Yanks to win the series.

we will, we have about half of what we need.........wang, andy, joba, hughes, kennedy, and a stronger moose will give us a fine rotation............MO, and then we must add 5 more arms to the pen............if we can do that, we will win next year. some of those 5 arms might already be in our system.wink
