Being a prisoner of war has nothing to do with feeling secure in debates. He's a human being. He wants to succeed and he knows his short comings.

The fundamentals are sound. It's a matter of getting rid of the rodents running around Wall St.

This is just the latest ploy to get mccain off the campaign trail. The fact that he can't draw crowds on his own is a complete embarrassment; he is reduced to "joining" palin at her rallys, to mask it.

May as well bring him to Washington to make it look like he's doing something...

President Bush Calls Obama and McCain

Updated 8:30 p.m.

By Michael Abramowitz

White House spokesman Tony Fratto said President Bush called Democratic
presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama tonight around 7:30 pm. Bush and
GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain also spoke this afternoon,
and their staffs conferred afterwards, Fratto said.

The president has invited the bicameral and bipartisan leadership,
and the two senators running for president, to the White House tomorrow
"to work on driving to a bipartisan and timely solution."

Obama has agreed to attend the meeting.

"A few moments ago, President Bush called Senator Obama and asked
him to attend a meeting in Washington tomorrow, which he agreed to do,"
Obama-Biden spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement. "Senator Obama
has been working all week with leaders in Congress, Secretary Paulson,
and Chairman Bernanke to improve this proposal, and he has said that he
will continue to work in a bipartisan spirit and do whatever is
necessary to come up with a final solution. He strongly believes the
debate should go forward on Friday so that the American people can hear
from their next President about how he will lead America forward at
this defining moment for our country."

Owl,to me this situation is the economic version of 9/11. I'm going to quit arguing politics and hope the Demos and Rep. come together to save our economy. These problems began over 10 years ago and both parties have some responsibility to correct it. Let's all of us,McCain and Obama supporters, show their patriotism, like we did on 9/11,and come together to stop the bleeding.
If not,it will affect us all.Not just the fat cats who are responsible. When it's fixed,I'm sure we can agree that it's time to go after those who profited from this crisis.

I find it silly for people to think that John Mccain is afraid to have a debate on National Security.

If Mccain could have had it his way there would have been a bunch of debates by now. Obama refused.

I wish it were as easy as you make it sound. Idyllically, we could all come together and get this fixed. As it stands, though, one of the two candidates won't cooperate and go do the right thing. It's a little hard to do what you propose when the followers of such candidate are too busy spinning their tops to do the right thing.
