I agree. I don't see how they can afford not use him now that Schilling's hurt. I certainly would.

Brilliantly said, thats what came to my mind when they signed him. So much for their heralded minor league system.

Stay away from Freddy Garcia. He had rotator cuff problems last year. That's why nobody wants him. Let the Red Sox pay for Colon he's always hurt anyway

you are so right, BG. I would not touch either one with a ten foot pole. Guess the Sox signed Colon as possible insurance because of Schilling. Hey, better them than us . One Pavano is enough for any lifetime

ALL SMOKE............they have bucholz, and they had to shut him down in september, because he's a skinny runt. no way that kid can give them 200 innings in the next 3 years............masterson, bowden, bard are all suspect.............

agreed Web. People automatically think that this season is a slam dunk for the Sox. Can we say Giants over Patroits???

Well now that Schill is out, there is room for Buccholz in the rotation. He's in the same situation as some of the Yankee's starters, in that he's on a strict pitch count also.

The Sox wanted to limit his innings early on in the season in AAA, and call him up to pitch the second half of the season relatively free of an innings-cap.

Now they have to start him to begin the season... which, think about this rotation... a little more uneasy in the Nation.

Beckett
Matsuzaka
Lester
Wakefield
Buccholz

Colon is a long shot to win a spot. What's his injury status? Is he "healthy"?
