...is having a full blown meltdown.

I can't say I feel bad, they have been merciless to us over the past 5 years, particularly regarding Arod and claiming all of their players were clean.

I admit, I'm having a little Soxenfreude.

See what I mean:

I've been watching NESN (TV) since the game ended today and thought I'd inform all here what they have been saying.

Francona addressed the media. Apparently the news broke about an hour before the game started. According to Francona, Ortiz will deal with this "head on" after he checks out a few things. Terry seemed quite subdued.

Just in on NESN, statement from David Ortiz (I paused the DVR to get the exact wording):

"Today I was informed by a reporter that I was on the 2003 list of MLB players to test positive for performance enhancing substances. This happened right before our game & the news blindsided me. I said I had no comment because I wanted to get to the bottom of this."

Tom Caron, broadcaster at NESN, also added that Ortiz said, 'I want to talk about this situation and I will, as soon as I have more answers. In the meantime, I want to let you know how I am approaching this situation: 1. I have already contacted the players association to confirm if this report is true. I have just been told that the report is true. Based on the way I have lived my life, I am surpised to learn I tested positive. 2. I will find out what I have tested positive for and 3. Based on whatever I learn, I will share this information with my club and the public. You know me, I will not hide and I will not make excuses.'

More to come on NESN. David Ortiz will talk to the media in the clubhouse. Should be interesting...

Werent all the players informed at the time of their failed test? That what I have been hearing all along. This would in fact create an even more awkward situation for Big popa needle

Did you see what he was telling reporters? He was basically pleading for them to take it easy on him.

I just want to know how Senator Mitchell will address this situation as his beloved Red Sox are indeed users. Certainly this perhaps enable them to win championships. I want a statement from Mitchell as his " Mitchell report " didn't point any fingers toward the Red Sox organization in regards to Manny/Oritz.

Absolutely, he was trying to get out of there as quickly as possible. He really didn't have much to say except that he wanted to get more information and that he'd be addressing the media in the next day or two about this. I'll take bets that he'll try to deny, deny, deny, that's why he said what he said about the suppossed "protein shakes" that he got in the Dominican. Unbelievable. I hope that Yankee fans rip him to shreds just as those Red Sox fans have done to Arod. It's time for paybacks.

Ha ha, and they just said that today is Selig's 75th birthday. Sounds like justice to me!

I'm right there with you Lauren! That Mitchell report was a total incomplete sham.

They have Theo Epstein on now saying how they support Ortiz and they care about him, blah, blah, blah. They are doing damage control, and I'm enjoying seeing them squirm. All is quiet here, I have heard from none of my friends who are Red Sox fans, they are avoiding me today for sure.
