That's the umpires call. I heard this morning on ESPN that those attacks last usually a full day. This time it was less than 1 hour. The umpires had no way of knowing how long that would have lasted. Unfortunately. What did you think of George's pep talk yesterday?

The bottom line is ....its his team...he is spending a fortune and gives us the best players available. He was angry, not unlike some of the people of this board when the yankees are losing. I think he was appealing to the players by saying that stuff to light a fire under their a**. I really didnt have a problem with it. I know some people did. To be quite honest I was happy he made a statement at all. That is a good sign.


On another note....I see we are replacing Clemens with Villone...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I didn't think it was a smart move at that time. This is baseball, not football where pep talks to the team my fire them up. 11 guys go out at one time and play in unison. In baseball it's still one hitter trying to hit a 95 mph pitch with movement on it. From what I saw of Joe's press conference today. He's not a happy camper about it. I think George has every right to voice his opinion, but I thought the timing wasn't right. I figured Villone would be the choice. The only other guy available was Edwar. They didn't have a lefty, and he has experience. It's sad to think that Joba had to be used 2 innings last night in an 8-3 game. Just goes to show the lack of faith Joe has in the other guys in the bullpen. I hope this isn't a close game tonight or that could back to bite them in the as..ss.

Ideally the Indians would like to burn up Yankee's bull pen in preparation for tomorrow's game in Cleveland if that should occur. All hands are on deck for the Yankees. We are proud of our team, give us a chance to play in Cleveland....go Wang..give him some run support.... .Go Yankees!!!

Am I the only person who thinks that whole thing was staged?

I'm willing to bet alot of money it was:

-NJ Paper broke it instead of a NY Paper..
-Statements like that take all pressure from the press OFF the players and ON Cashman and Torre.

I think it was staged, and Joe knew about it before it was released.
