Um, the 3 pitchers held the Indians to 0 runs when only 1 run was scored for them. They K'ed 13 Indians in a 9 inning shutout.

They're the POTG. Period. End of story.

jonah, you're absolutely right. how could you NOT give them the POTG honors? i suppose MAYBE you could consider melky in there, but these guys worked really hard today, and they deserve it.

Besides, consider - the Indians only needed one HR to tie it. Only needed a double and a bloop. Only needed ONE SWING. That's what Wang, Joba and Mo dealt with. Every. Single. AB. Was. Critical.

Welcome to 1-0 World.

IT's an idea I've done for the last few years, actually.

Gotcha. I've only been around for about a year. I started merely browsing the board before registering and even that was only on occasions that I had a little free time. So for me it's like NBC's old slogan when it came time to their re-runs: "If you haven't seen it before, it's new to YOU". LOL.

To me Wang was the player of the game. He battled CC pitch for pitch and won.

The debate wasn't about Wang being #1.

Well posters in here were talking about who the player of the game was and I decided that Wang was.

Believe it or not, I did not have objection to the Player of the Game. #1 was absolutely Wang - no argument. I only figured that Melky should have gotten an honorable mention since the only run scored was off his bat. But it's a new day now, and we have a new game to look forward to - and hopefully another Yankee win.wink
