The thing about it is that Torre didn't have to write this book now. Unless you have your head in the clouds, anyone can clearly see that this book was only written now to hurt the Yankees. This book could have been written after Torre and all the main characters retired. It would have sold just as well and everyone would have been just as interested in it. The reason this book was written now was to stick it to the Yankees b/c Torre wants vengeance b/c he's mad at them. Anything else is just spin doctoring.

A lot of people say "wait to read the book." But there's no reason too. Anyone who has paid attention has read the excerpts and has heard commentary from those who have read the book. Mike Francessa loved the book, but said some players come off badly. No matter what you think of Francessa, I am sure we can all agree that he can read and comprehend.

Torre clobbered the guys he didn't like and was kind to the guys he did like. That's fine and he has every right to his opinion. But the bottom line is that this book did not have to be written at this time. It was only done now to hurt the Yankees. If it was written sometime after everyone was retired, it would sell just as well and be just as interesting. Onl;y difference is that it would not effect anyone or any teams' season.

This book was written out of spite. There is no other logical explanation. As a Yankee fan, that should annoy you. If you're not a Yankee fan, then enjoy the chaos and see how much damage it causes. For real Yankee fans, this book being written at this time can't make you happy.
