Call me crazy; but I really admired Buddy Daley, even when he was an "A,'' and wanted the Yanks to get him.

not to change the subject , and forgive me for just a moment Clipper; but Glen, I've been meaning to ask you for quite some time now...aah, what is your opossum eating?...could it be a persimmon?

Why do people say/write not to change the subject, when that is exactly what they are doing?

I thought it was a slice of pizza.  Thin crust, not that junk they eat in Chicago.

I was batting .349 one season for the Yankees before I was traded to the west coast, where I spent most of my career.

ya' know...aah,...you are...aah, let me see...oh yeah, Glen?...yes, that's it you are of course, GLEN...ya' know Glen, it's just one of many meaningless phases we all use without really thinking how ridiculuos they are...then again maybe that's why we use them so frequently...pizza, huh?...crispy thin crust..mmm...sure sounds a whole lot better than a stinkin' persimmon...maybe, if we are fortunate someone else by the name of Glen who lives in Virginia; and not the one in New Jersey will help clear this matter up....oh, BTW, my apologoies, Aussie Yank...if I might be so bold as to change the subject once again...and ...abracadabra!...we will resume with "1960 Yankees Photo Trivia"...everything is cool?...bhjoe, you have certainly helped make my morning...thank you...pizza...really?

who is this 1969 outfielder?...Hint...no, it's the older brother or the father of Raul Ibanez...speaking of which, I'm starting to like him...he is starting to be a Yankee...Jack Curry did a very nice interview with him during the game last night...but because last night's game didn't occur in the 1960's I will stop talking about it...

please don't let the uniform fool you, he really was a New York Yankee...
