You're correct. Jeff Kunkel  He was All American shortstop with Rider College, who played for the Texas Rangers. Bill  Kunkel passed away from cancer.

My uncle was friends with Bill Kunkel and I met him a couple of times when I was pretty Young. I had a couple of autographed balls from him but they probably got all beat up from playing games with them.
