As to the attendance of 5,000 + at Mantle's last game thats true they didnt know it was his last but .....5,000?? Hell they beat that now in ST games.

Craner,

New York baseball fans in the 1960's were a tickle group, only 38,682 fans showed up for 1960 All Star Game at Yankee Stadium. I was at the last game of the 1961 AL season, Roger Maris HR#61 game, there were about 23,700 for that game.

Clip, I humbly apologize for my childish behavior.  It was not in the spirit of team, it was divisive and completely unprofessional.  But in my defense, they started it.

yeah,..ah, a-hem...yes sir, Mr. Clipper, sir,... the same as what he said...that 'll go double for me...next question please...

Hey buddy, you may want to check the post immediately preceding Marvin's.  Now I am in no way going to accuse him or you of copying, because quite frankly, who would copy from me?  I have a long history of not knowing history.

I'm confused...hmmm...nothing too unusual about that...the time and the multiple carry over...bundling...piggy backing posting really perplexes me at (most always) times...for what it's worth, check my post#1329 which precedes both yours and Marvins???...I'm not quite sure what's going on...what I am certain of is your genuine, selfless gesture on helping me with that question I was having so much trouble with...aah, I think that's how I'm supposed to interpret this...or am I still confused?...

115,

Bottom line is that this petty stuff has to stop. Nobody is getting any kind of points for their answers. It's just for fun for fellow New York Yankee fans who want to learn or test their knowledge about the team's rich history through photo trivia.

This is appropo of nothing, but the anniversary of this event is coming up.  I know its not Yankees, but its Patriotism and whats more patriotic than the Yankees.

I love that Scully says, "there's an animal on the field"
