Say let me ask you something...how is it that you might have confused Steve Whitaker (my guess,too) with Dave Winfield...Winfield is a whole lot taller...check the back of their baseball cards...for goodness sakes...

Yes, it was young Yankees OF  Rusty Torres, INF Jerry Kenney, OF  Charlie Spikes and Catcher Johnny Ellis were traded to the Cleveland Indians by the New York Yankees for Graig Nettles. Only Johnny  Ellis had a decent MLB career until he was forced to retire with a broken leg injury.

Craner, I agree. The Nettles trade was a great one for the Yanks. He brought leadership, power, grit and ..... oh yeah he was pretty good in the field.
