Memo to YES.  Keep letting these idiots ruin this board and you'll keep losing members.

I still think that it's weird that goodtogo and frank30 have disappeared and this terr poster who has posted nothing but stupid things, basically like they did, magically appeared.

I still haven't figured out how anything about Joba is even relevent at the moment.

I am afraid that your right.  Hughes just don't have it!  Joba, if he can come back has the natural instincts & limited stamina that makes a good short releiver.  Maybe Hughes too can fill a bullpen role.  He is NO starter!

While I don't wish to continue pouring salt into wounds, Joba is not coming back as a starter.  (or shall I say, if the management has any sense).

Seriously, when can we lose the whole "Phil Franchise" and "Joba should be our #1 starter" discussion?  Remember the whole.. "prospects are JUST PROSPECTS" discussions?  You can't crown them saviors before they have proven themselves in the big leagues.

Sooooooooooo many people were hailing Phil as our FRANCHISE starter.  And Joba was "THE MAN".  LOL.. laughable.

Phil doesn't have enough movement and change of effective pitches to start.  He gets figured out and tagged too easily.  He may have some worth in the BP, and that's where he belongs.  He will be when Andy comes up.

Hi.. on another topic, did I read that EnterSandman had passed away?  how tragic!  Was he ill for a long time, or was it sudden?

I have to agree 100% ldantoni. I just hope that you are right with the he will be in the BP when Andy is ready. I'm just afraid that they might just stick to Hughes to the team's detriment.

This team absolutely has been known to "stick with a player to their detriment".  Joba starting sooooo many times / so many years, yet many could see he was not starter material.  The idea of Phil Hughes ever being franchise starter materials.  How many times / years does it take?  Phil has had more than enough time now to either show his potential as a top flight starter or be declared to finality that there is not that potential.

Seriously, my belief here is that they are simply waiting on Andy... hoping to catch lightning in a bottle with Phil, but not truly expecting to.

By the way, I think that REGGIE44 is another incarnation of the same. How could he have found this thread from 3 years ago otherwise.
