...really.

There's no point in watching the games, much less commenting on the team, until this season ends, and the FA period for 2010-2011 starts.

The team told its best players they mean nothing in their contract negotiations with Robinson and Lee this past off-season (and the team is probably correct in that assessment; more's the pity), and, in turn, the players have responded exactly as most people would to being told they're worthless and don't matter by the organization they work for: they've stopped trying.

As such, the Knicks can go 1-81 this year, and the only one who'll care is the Utah Jazz, who would get the most ping pong balls at the lottery for the NBA Draft next June.

I don't even feel sorry for the fans who bought tickets this year. It was obvious to anyone who thought about it for five minutes what this season would bring.

I know I can't really make fun of the Knicks because my Nets aren't doing any better, but at least the Nets have an excuse to their poor start of the season. The Knicks, on the other hand, don't have any excuses. They're not playing their games with only 8 active players on their roster. I thought the Knicks would be trying to compete in the weak East, but so far it doesn't look like they aren't. I also find it shocking that the Knicks don't plan on locking up Lee, Harrington and Robinson to long term deals. Oh well, what may be one team's trash could be another team's treasure and I hope the Nets can snatch Lee and Harrington (NJ native) away from the Knicks.

Interesting - interesting - so fans, diehard fans - should not pay attention or comment on their team - even during the hard times.  Query - was this your approach with the Yankees during the 80s and early 90s???  If so, well . . . . you know.

"I felt like we weren't going the way I wanted us to," said Mattingly when asked why he wanted a trade. "The Yankees said they had a five-year plan. I didn't have five years."

From the NY Times, August 16, 1991 on the topic of trading Don Mattingly at the time.  That five-year plan would later turn into four championships in a five year span (and one other championship almost a decade later in 2009 with a core group of players hatched from that original plan).  And a new Yankees' dynasty would be born.  Patience is a good thing.

How weird is it that the Knicks are 11th in PPG?
