Uh huh. Tell that to the Browns. What happened today with them?

Banks says you're a FOOL. THIS is the sort of game in which you have nothing to do BUT play hard.

Or did you forget what Wellington Mara did in 2003?

Maybe Banks should tell it to himself in 1992, when he was still a starting linebacker, and the Giants played themselves out of the playoffs getting their hineys kicked in five straight games:

Lost at Denver 27-13; Lost to the Eagles at home 47-34 (sound familiar?), got smashed in Dallas 30-3, got beaten up at home 28-10 by the Redskins, and completed the five game rout geting shut out in Phoenix by a Cardinal team that went 4-12 by a score of 19-0. They did wake up to beat the Kansas City Chiefs at home 35-21, but then closed the season losing to the Eagles in Philly 20-10.

Erik Howard, Leonard Marshall, Steve DeOssie, Mark Collins, and Greg Jackson were also starters on that team. L.T. started 9 games, then, it looks like he was lost for the season with an injury (sound familiar?), and the good defense stopped, and the beatings started.

I guess Super Bowl Champions Howard, Marshall, DeOssie, Banks, Collins and Jackson had no pride and quit on the season, too.

And, before you cite Ray Handley as an example, try to remember that Handley didn't win a Super Bowl just two years before.

Carl Banks is NOT in charge of the team. Sheridan will likely go; probably about 15 players on the main roster as well. Coughlin will be given at least another half-season to turn things around.

You two might want to avoid reading the newspaper for the next few days - or watching NY Football on YES. The Giants and Coughlin will be getting thoroughly smashed.

I could do a search for Giants and pride or heart and get a bonanza of articles about that.

But I'll wait for the juicier stuff tomorrow. I'll be posting quotes from Cross and Myers on Tuesday too. Should be fun.

Wrong again, JF. I think everyone on the team is accountable, for their jobs. Not for other guys'. I'm not excusing Coughlin. I just think the players deserve their share of the blame here.

They will get thoroughly smashed, and maybe they even deserve it. Doesn't make you right about the character of the players or the ability of the coach.

In other words, both facts and logic make a mockery of your position, so you're going to do the message board equivalent of holding your breath till you turn blue, and throwing a tantrum.
