Dave this is a slow fought battle.  When Obama was elected many of us were naive in thinking the nation had turned a corner on race.  Now we find it will take at least the present generation of boomers to die off before there's a chance that "the melting pot" will become color blind.  No biggie the end of bigotry is inevitable but maybe not in our lifetime.

Racism is alive and well in the US.  But its definitely in both the Republican and Democrat parties.  Additionally, there were probably just as many people who voted for Obama and against because of the color of his skin.  I would hope though that the majority of Americans make their decisions based on the man/woman rather than race.

Yeah, right! When guilty of something accuse the accuser of the same thing. That makes it right! BWAHAHAHAHAHA

Sometimes I think that this is a battle that will never be won! As long as the media won't follow through with some of these nuts and their comments it will be always there. Perfect example, the guy on Ratigan's show! There has been no follow-up about the guy, only that he was off the show.  Second, you are right about this young generation. These young people, 18-30, having gone to school and interacted with other races, have the greatest attitude toward race. They do because they get to know the person and not the "cartoon" put on by the media and Tea Baggers.

Yes sometimes they do more harm than good. And yes, they stir things up where there is nothing there.

Now my question. Do these guys vote and have they been elected by the people?

First off, I did not say there were as many racist Dems as there are Reps, although there may in fact be.  All I said was that they exist in both parties and that some people voted against Obama because of his skin and some voted for him for his skin color.  As for me personally I have NEVER voted for or against someone because of skin color.  You can believe me or not.
