Avery Johnson: "The Nets will go from worst to first"

He said that during his press conference on Tuesday. I believe that the Nets can do it, but they have to bring the "right" talent on the team. After all, they did do something similar to that after the 2000-01 season when they finished 26-56 (5th worst record) that season. In the 2001 offseason, they traded for Kidd and traded their draft pick (Griffin) to the Rockets for Richard Jefferson. Already with then-sophomore #1 pick K-Mart and Kittles, the Nets went on to post a 52-30 record in the following 2001-02 season (best record in East then) and they reached the NBA Finals.


Who's to say that they can't do something similar to that again?

I'll wait to see what the roster looks like, but the sky is the limit for this team. Even a playoff apperance would be a pleasing improvement. I have a good feeling Lopez and co will lead this team to the promise land within the next 5 seasons.

I agree with both of you, though I will wait to see what the roster will look like. We know that Lopez and Harris are likely locks. I hope that Favors is our starting PF and T-Will is our starting SG for the 2010-11 season. Who will play SF remains a mystery, though we all know who we would want there.
