Lesson for this offseason: Don't Believe A Word From Prokhorov

Until he walks the walk instead of just talking the talk, don't believe a dam thing that he says. Us Nets fan deserve better than this. We were PROMISED some major changes this offseason and we have ended up disappointed. We were disappointed in the "fixed" Lottery for the NBA Draft and now we have been completely shutdown in the Free Agent market. Now we have to deal with the likes of "Career Benchplayer" Outlaw and soon to be signed "Sean Williams version 2.0" aka Tyrus Thomas. No way am I a frontrunner, but I'm thinking to myself "What is the point of watching the upcoming season if we're going to experience some of the same things from last season?" Makes no sense, IMO. I rather watch the Yankees for a full year until next summer than to watch more horror seasons like I experienced for most of last season. If I had to experience that kind of season again, I'd have to be taken away in a mental institution because I'd be going crazy. Yell

So once again, don't believe a word that Prok says until he actually does what he says that he's going to do. STFU for all I care.

I agree with you.  Prokhorov looks like a total fool.  He guaranteed a championship within five years and a playoff appearance in year one.  This team is not going to the playoffs as built right now, and all the decent free agents are gone.  He talked a big game and totally struck out.

I suppose with one or two decent trades this team could become a playoff team again.  But for years they were already a good playoff team.  The whole reason they traded Carter and RJ was so that they could rebuild and become more then just a playoff team.  Now, that sure as hell isnt happening any time soon.

Depending on who else the Nets get this offseason, they may just sneak in the playoffs as the East is pretty weak especially with Lebron, Wade and Bosh playing for the Heat. The Raptors are going to drop like flies in the standings next season without Bosh so I expect them to be one of the worst teams in the NBA since they were basically a .500 team at best with Bosh. The Cavs will probably be a 45 win team without Lebron as they do have a decent lineup. I doubt that the Nets will look as bad as they looked last season. Unlike last season, they'll have a REAL head coach anchoring the team. Harris and Lopez will be 100% for a full season, I hope. Terrence Williams, Kris Humphries and Damion James are bound to have a decent season. Lastly, we won't have to worry about Trenton Hassell, Bobby Simmons or Yi Jianlian on the team (HALLELUJAH). I see the Nets being at least a 20-25 win team next season.

Lol you say the nets may sneak into the playoffs because we have a real coach now, a healthy harris and lopez, and our bench but then you said the Nets will be a 20-25 win team next season lol.

TAKE DOWN THE DAMN BILLBOARD!!!  How foolish does that billboard look now??!!!!!!!!!

I'm still expecting Rod Thorn to make a BIG TRADE before he leaves!!!  No way his last signing is f'in Outlaw!!

It's coming!!! It has to be coming!!  IT BETTER BE COMING!! If there goal is to at least make the playoffs- how in the world are they going to win close to 30 more games than last year!!!  Not with Outlaw and Tyrus Thomas- Is there a difference between them and Bobby Simmons and Trenton Hassel.   5 years 35 million!!! It's still hard to believe for Outlaw.

How could Lebron pass that combo up!!!

Funny... the first I heard of Outlaw's contract immediately led my mind to Bobby Simmons. Not good.

LOL. When I mentioned about the Nets winning about 25 games, that was the very LEAST amount of wins that they'll get (in my opinion) especially with the talent that they have now. If they can bring the "right" players to the Nets like say an Al Harrington, Anthony Morrow (career 46% from 3-pt land) and re-sign Dooling, I think the Nets could compete for the 7th or 8th seed in the weak East next season.

Yeah with a few tweaks the Nets may be able to squeeze into the playoffs with the 7th or 8th seed.  But then they'd get knocked out (probably swept) in the first round.

Im surprised there are as many Nets fans out there who are eager just to see this team get back to the playoffs as a 7 or 8 seed.  I mean for years this team was a really good team.  It seems like now after a couple lowsy seasons most fans are content with just getting back to the playoffs.  Lets not forget the whole reason why we traded away Vince and RJ was so that we could stop being just a playoff team and rebuild to become something better then that.
