Reagan & Busg1 Tip O'Neill and Ted Kennedy put the middle class in the crapper. Clinton Gingrich started to dig us out but Bush2 Reid and Pelosi had us circling the drain. Now the GOP wants to cut spending vs. and increasing revenues - which can only undo the slow lack of rebound we've seen under Obama.

There you go, I fixed it for ya, your welcome

Howard Baker and Bob Dole (both Republicans) were the majority leaders of the Senate for the first six years under Reagan. But I'm glad you admit the economic policies followed by Reagan and a Republican Senate were bad for the middle class. I'm not sure why you don't mention a Senator for the Clinton years. It would be the same Dole who reined under Reagan and the same Lott who reined under Bush. It's strange they were so great while Clinton was in charge but awful while Reagan and Bush were President. Who gets the blame for the deficits for the years under Bush while Republicans were in control of the House, Senate and White House?

Yanker,

If you had a clue, you would know that Federal Budget approval begins in the House of Representatives,  Which has been controled by the Democrats except for Gingrich years and a few years after that.

So the national debt escalated under the democrats watch.

If you had a clue, you would know that the Senate and President must agree to a budget. Tax cuts also start in the House but you give credit to them to the White House. Obama is now in the position of Reagan as far as control goes. The other party controls the House while his party controls the Senate. You blamed the party in charge of the House for deficits before. Will you now blame the Republicans in charge of the House for the current deficits? Of course not.
